Setting up Perforce [Remote PC/Client Set Up]
Super similar to Admin Set Up but easier. Make sure to install P4V and we should be gucci.
Open P4V and type in the IP and user. If everything work, then it should ask for a password
*If you get and error it usually like this
The correct Server is the wifi IP address or the AWS code, but since this is a remote desktop tutorial it should be the Wifi IP of the host.
User is the name that the Admin created in Users&Group in Admin Set Up. The password should be given to you by the admin
Ignore Workspace for now since you won’t have any.
Then after hit OK, put in the password that the admin provided you
If you see this, you are safe!!
Next stop, lets clone a depot and I will use Tutorial depot as an example.
Go to Connection>New Workspace
Then this window should pop-up.
If it look like this, first click on the 3 blue folders thing then it should look like this
Now go to Admind Set up and Search for [REMOTE PC/ CLIENT READ HERE TOO] and we should be gucci.
NOTE: After you successfully connect to the depot, if you don’t see any files in your workspace, click Get Latest, it should begins to clone/ download the files in the depot.
